Purpose of the Job

The Site Finance business partner is an integral part of the Site leadership team as well as the UK finance team. Working with the Site Plant Manager, the Finance business partner will drive the financial performance of the site through the budgeting and forecasting processes as well as inputting to strategic planning and initiatives.

 

The Site finance business partner will be accountable for the accurate and timely reporting of P&L and Balance sheet figures for the site in conjunction with the Basingstoke Finance shared service team and will ensure that the monthly performance is measured and understood.

 

Maintaining a strong control environment and ensuring that the financial implication of all site actions is known and understood is also key.
 

Main Activities and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Responsibility for the site P&L and balance sheet including sign off on the month end close position and commentary on significant variances.

  • Analysis of the financial and non-financial data to drive insight into performance and influence the site process managers to make performance improvements.

  • Presentation of financial performance to all levels of the organisation from shop floor to CEO.

  • Provision of regular and reliable management information to the Site Head of Operations and management team

  • Management of process for budgets and forecast resulting in a precise and well understood forward looking statement for the site.

  • Assist the Management team in interpreting and understanding financial / performance trends.

  • Drive financial accountability through holding teams and individuals accountable against the site financial and standard cost targets.

  • Take a leading role on the Site leadership team to ensure the financial impact of all decisions is appropriate assessed and understood

  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement across the finance team seeking to maximise system and processes.

  • With the Site Plant Manager manage site working capital levels in line with Group targets to minimise cash tied up in the business

  • Maintain a compliant control environment on the site and monitor and adapt internal financial control procedures as business processes evolve.

  • Ensure the effective administration of the site manufacturing and costing systems and procedures.

  • Maximise the relationship with the Basingstoke shared services team in order that accounting records are accurate and processes as efficient a possible

  • Manage and review the preparation of capital expenditure requests and subsequent post completion audits.

  • Primary point of contact on external audit for the site

General Requirements

  • Support the behaviour of working as One De La Rue, sharing best practice and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business.

  • Ensure full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up to date record of all training and development activities and programmes for self and all team members.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with minimum 5 yrs. PQE, with at least 2 years of that in a manufacturing environment

     

Experience

  • Proven strong finance technical ability in a manufacturing environment

  • Track record in the delivery and management of finance projects across a wide spectrum of finance activities

  • Line Management experience with demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members

  • Extensive Knowledge and experience in Cost Accounting in a complex manufacturing environment

  • Proven track record of business improvement and managing change

  • SAP or Other ERP experience is essential

We are a key manufacturing business within a large and successful International Group.  The company produces a range of products based on the printing and conversion of films for the security paper/polymer industries.
